Final?

Monday, August 7th, 2006

Looks like I spoke too soon the last time I declared the site layout as finished. A lot has changed since then: additional sidebar items (nifty shoutbox!), background/wrap overhaul, and – most recent of all – a new header image. It’s not an outdoor shot, but I think it’s nice! It’s a photo of an airline souvenir keychain which I took using my camera’s super macro mode. The image is also significant in a way – pretty obvious why so I’ll skip the corny explanations.

Here’s the photograph straight off the camera:

Shuttleshots

Monday, August 7th, 2006

A couple of artsy-fartsy photos taken from last weekend’s office badminton tournament. Converted mostly to grayscale, with only the main subject having actual color. Since the shuttlecock is generally white, the effect is subtle (to my utmost liking).

And here’s another black and white photo taken from the same venue as above. Yes, I know – waiting in between games can sometimes be boring. Aside from being converted into grayscale, the contrast has been enhanced a bit.

Now that I’m thinking about it, the last photo isn’t really that notable. Ah, no matter.

Soft Light

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

It was early morning, rain just fell, and the sky was bleak and cloudy. I found my girlfriend silhouette-ed against the soft, monotonic light from the window. I wanted to capture that particular detail, but didn’t quite pull it off. Oh well, maybe next time…

This photo also reminds me a little of the Munich movie poster.

Home Photos

Thus begins Joon’s chronicle of his photogratuitous journeys. And here’s a couple of the most recent ones. The leftmost was taken from inside my room, through a dusty glass window, which made the pic softer but also made the water droplets shimmer a bit. The other two are from the upstairs bathroom: an experiment in high shutter speeds. And um, pardon the gunk on the showerhead (not for the squemish).
