Lomo Love

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

September 9, 2006. In spite of the really heavy rain earlier in the evening, the Lomolove exhibit launch pushed through as if no such disturbance occured. My band was able to play a nice long set, which most of us feels is one of our better ones. It’s probably the atmosphere of the event (rain notwithstanding) more than anything else.

And, to top that off, I just recently got myself the “nifty-fifty”: the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8, which had its first run during said event. What a fun lens to use! It’s a bit limiting though, and at several points I wished I had a wider lens in hand. That said, the 50mm is a good compromise for a relatively small venue.

Portraits galore! The 50mm just asks for it.

Market! Market!

Saturday, September 2nd, 2006

One could not consider himself a photography enthusiast without having taken pictures of… FOOD! (Or so I guess.) Good thing my team came up with an impromptu plan to have lunch at Market! Market! last Friday.

After lunch, we headed to a future data center site somewhere in Pasig City. On our way back to the office, I took some pictures from the van. I just realized that late afternoon sunlight looks amazing.

Note: The last photo was taken much earlier, but I thought I’d put it in because it looks cool.
