Today is a particularly good day. Firstly, I spent the afternoon in a walking tour of Binondo conducted by Old Manila Walks and funded by my office’s photography club. It was great, often fascinating. The walking tour not only involved sight-seeing, but also food tasting! We visited some of the notable food shops around, some of them one will probably never discover by himself. Needless to say, food was amazing. Brought home some really good authentic siomai of the North China variety (apparently, the dimsum that we commonly know are the kind that originated aroung the Canton region, which is in the southern part of China), and very cheap too. Wish I bought more…
The trip was exhausting, so I headed straight home. And I found, there waiting for me on my bed, my copy of Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) game. This game saved me a lot of money. A week ago I was very sure I would get me a brand new console – the Nintendo Wii – but then LOTRO dawned on me, which dawned on the me that just had the dawning, that, hey, there’s still a lot more to play on the current stuff I have, and the Wii can wait, besides, the games in general have yet to get really good. So, yes, LOTRO singlehandedly squashed my 6-month long desire for the Wii, pretty much. Of course it helped that moongirl and momouw were kind enough to lend me their Wii in short bursts of frequency.
Finishing off the list is the season finale of The Office. Wow is all I have to say. It’s soap opera fan-ish for me to be happy about a TV episode, but so be it.
