…at Dunder-Mifflin!

The Office season 4 premiere episode is currently in the queue and should be ready-fresh in a bit. Excellent!

I went back to the Sham Shui Po computer arcade earlier to canvas for PC parts. But then just tonight I realized the futility of my actions. The last thing I need is a high-end PC! I should not succumb to my old ways of staying in my room most of the time. Besides, I can already play games here on Munchausen (my Windows-phase laptop [it has a Jeckyl/Hyde thing going on.]).

I MUST PRIORITIZE. I MUST PRIORITIZE. I must prioritize.

1. Delirium, 2. Desire, 3. Despair

I think I want a 12-24mm ultrawide lens. Come to think of it, I also want to build a high-end desktop PC. An Xbox 360 Halo 3 Edition. Bioshock and World in Conflict. A Presonus Firebox.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling saaaad….

Paradise Lost No More

I thought I was about to faint when I went to the computer arcade in Sham Shui Po – one MTR station away from mine – and found TWO ENTIRE FLOORS SELLING NOTHING BUT COMPUTER HARDWARE, PERIPHERALS, LCD MONITORS, GAME CONSOLES, GAMES, IDE TO SATA 2 ADAPTORS, NIFTY USB GADGETS SIMILAR TO ONES YOU CAN FIND AT THINKGEEK, ETC. ETC. IN THE SAME VEIN. And, discovering that A 19″ WIDESCREEN LCD MONITOR BOASTING 5,000:1 CONTRAST, 2MS RESPONSE TIME AND HDCP COMPATIBILITY COSTS LESS THAN TWELVE THOUSAND PESOS.

Summary: Computer everything is very cheap in HK.

Conclusion: I need a job!!

Relocation

This is my second night at the serviced apartment (I am in here.) It’s a nice place, and it’s particularly fun taking a shower in the bathroom because of the super-fine showerhead. The room is also very spacious for a single

It just takes a little adjustment, living alone. Just last night I went home forgetting that I didn’t have any kind of food or beverage in stock, AND was unable to brush my teeth because – yeah I forgot the -brushe and -paste. Earlier I bought the essentials from the grocery, but still found that I am lacking some more stuff. I guess it would take a few more days to realize everything.

I am up to my cramming antics again. A project proposal due yesterday (Sunday) was started Friday night and finished Saturday night – a total of around 5 hours work, all told. Pretty fast, considering that part of the time was spent on “intensive” research (translate: Google). And I managed to cram in a diagram, to make the proposal look more serious, haha.

Now that there won’t be any requirements for at least a few days, I can try out the downloaded demo of the innovative and potentially great World in Conflict. One of the perks of my moving is I finally got to set up my workstation, complete with external keyboard and mouse – conducive for reviving my gaming appetite. Which is I guess, sort of bad…
