glibberish.

Today is the first time in Hong Kong history that I donned a business-like attire. Not that formal – at least not more formal than what I used to wear going to work back home. And not exactly for a job interview, but as a help to find me a job (it was a headhunter agency). The event itself wasn’t that, um, eventful, but I liked the feeling of taking the MTR in this unusual garb, heading to the central business district, as if I were actually going to work. I feel… functional!

Bottom line is, I miss going to work :D

When “work” was done I went to my current favorite stop – Wanchai. Ate early dinner (or late lunch, whatever) at this small Filipino shop – an actual turo-turo – called Mang Ambo’s. (I actually found an article about it here.) A bunch of Pinoys run the place, and I am happy to say that the food is GREAT! I usually order Kaldereta and Bistek, sometimes some vegetables if I feel like it. They also serve Dinuguan, which is amazing – it’s 0% fat, unlike the ones we have back home where it’s the other way around. Also, I always ask for sinigang soup.

So yeah, I pretty much go there all the time I happen to be in the area. If I do get work, I am really hoping it would be around there.

After Mang Ambo’s, I walked a block and there’s this great Pacific Coffee Company shop, riddled with very comfy couches and a couple of internet kiosks. I went there meaning to enjoy my book (which I could not seem to finish for the longest time :P), but ended up researching about cheap but good headphones (my old pair up and died recently). This is because the Wanchai Computer Center is yet another couple of blocks away. When in Rome, right?

An hour later, went to the computer center and got the black one:

Then I went home, and was satisfied.
